About Karen Fox
In 1974, I had
a series of prophetic dreams about a traumatic event that later happened. This event coupled with my previous psychic
experiences as a child led me to get serious about working with my dreams. Since then, I continue to have psychic dreams;
we all have them.
While doing research for my master's thesis at the
University of South Florida, I had vivid dreams about some of the people I interviewed. I was surprised that my thesis
committee allowed me to incorporate these insights into my thesis. I had always kept such things on the periphery of
my life. Many scientists have dreams about their research. I am now conducting a study on how scientists/researchers and business professionals use psychic insights in their work.
I earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from Syracuse University and later a diploma in Counseling Clinical Hypnotherapy from
the Colorado School of Counseling Hypnotherapy (now the Colorado Coaching and Hypnotherapy Institute).
One of the more significant turning points in my life was the training I had previously received as a Massage Therapist
at the Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, D. C.. This experience got me thinking as a sociologist before I ever went to graduate school.
In massage school, I returned to my body as way of knowing and making sense of the world, something I had always experienced
when I was young.
As a child, I had a secret hiding place behind our
garage. In a secluded nook between overgrown lilac bushes, I put rocks in a horseshoe shape, and I sat on the ground
at the back of the U. There, I sensed the Earth, especially the trees and ground. Like many children, knowing
came from my body. I experienced the sacred before I ever learned about the many theologies and philosophies I studied
from my teen years on. Later, bodywork would bring me back to my body and the Earth; and with that re-membering, the
psychic in me flowered.
While in massage school in 1990, I joined
a group focused on developing psychic abilities. We gave group readings, and I began giving readings on my own.
But life changes happened; I moved; I went to graduate school. I once again relegated my psychic skills to my dreams
or whenever they managed to get through to me during waking hours.
For
example, I was driving home one day from the grocery store, and I knew my sister was
pregnant. When I called to tell her this, she lit into me because she was feeling pressure to get pregnant. Over
two years had passed since her marriage, and they had decided not to have a child. So, I shut up. Two months later,
my sister called and said, "Guess what." I replied, "You're pregnant." For several months
before this nephew was born, we visited in dreams. We sat on the tailgate of his father's truck under the clear
midnight sky. He showed me stars, pointing out areas of the nighttime sky and giving me information that I didn't
understand...but he did.
My dreams and my psychic abilities have always been intertwined. Dreamwork can improve your own psychic sense.
When I got psychic readings over the years, I was told that I could do what they were doing. But still, I didn't
focus much on this ability. Menopause brought an increase in psychic knowings about world events
as well as about my life, and the psychic dreams increased. I felt a greater push to do something with my psychic abilities.
I now offer psychic readings.
