This study focuses on children's dreaming and
how they make sense of what they are doing or experiencing while
sleeping. I have long wanted to give young children and their parents a resource to help children stay connected with
their dream life as they grow.
My research approach is to listen to how children themselves talk about what happens while they sleep. When
I talk with kids, I often don't use the word "dream" because that assumes
a particular way of thinking about what they are doing or experiencing while asleep. I want to hear what kids think.
Ages
Included in the Study:
- Children from ages 3 to 9 or as soon as your child
is capable of talking about what she or he experiences while asleep. They do not have to already be talking with you about dreams to be included in the study.
- Adults who had an active dream life as a child or remember compelling dreams as a child.
Interviews:
If you live in the Denver area, I can meet with you and your child in-person. If you live outside
this area, I will give you guidelines for interviewing your child.
If you are interested in including your child in this study, please contact me
I will contact you with
additional information (e.g., consent forms).
